GUI Freezes in Active Directory Restore Mode

Valid on Windows platforms.

Symptom

The Arcserve Backup manager freezes when Windows is started in the Active Directory Restore Mode and you cannot restore the Active Directory when Windows is in the Active Directory Restore mode.

Solution

This behavior occurs because Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition and Microsoft SQL Server cannot function when you start Windows in the Active Directory Restore mode. To remedy this problem, submit the Active Directory restore job using Windows Normal Mode and execute the Active Directory restore job after restarting Windows using the Active Directory Restore mode.
