Query the Status of Tape Drives

The command, query drive all, provides information about the tape volumes, the tape drives, their state, their status, and their type in the StorageTek ACSLS tape library.

To query the status of the tape drives

  1. Start the cmd_proc utility.
  2. Enter
    query drive all
    

    The command displays the following information:

    2004-03-18 12:51:31               Drive Status
    
    Identifier   State           Status      Volume     Type
    
    0, 0, 0, 0 online          available              SGT-LTO
    
    0, 0, 0, 1 online          available              SGT-LTO
    
    0, 0, 0, 2 online          available              SGT-LTO
    
    0, 0, 0, 3 online          available              SGT-LTO
    

The identifier consists of four digits, which represent the following:

In the preceding example, “0, 0, 0, 0” on the first line translates to ACS = 0, LSM = 0, Panel = 0, ID = 0 while “0, 0, 0, 3” on the fourth line translates to ACS = 0, LSM = 0, Panel = 0, Drive ID = 3.
