The tape volume assignments determine the logical user-defined library shared by all Arcserve Backup servers in the SAN. In the following example, a single set of tape volumes defines the logical library for the SAN:
The example shows that the Enterprise Tape Library 3494 has three tape drives directly attached to a SAN. The tape volume assignments are the same for each Arcserve Backup server in the SAN. Another backup server on the network that is not running Arcserve Backup may have a different configuration.
