The tape volume assignments determine the user-defined logical library shared by all Arcserve Backup servers in the SAN. In the following illustration, a single set of tape volumes defines the logical library for the SAN:
The illustration shows that the StorageTek ACSLS tape library has three tape drives directly attached to a SAN. The tape volume assignments are the same for each Arcserve Backup server in the SAN. Another backup server on the network that is not running Arcserve Backup may have a different configuration.
