Enterprise Tape Library 3494: Drives Cannot be Mapped to the Library
Symptom
Drives cannot not be mapped to the library.
Note: This problem is specific to the Enterprise Option for IBM 3494.
Solution
The reason for drives not being mapped to the library could be a registry entry, named Device Name.
To determine if drives are mapped
- Click Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Device Manager.
- Locate the IBM tape drives that are connected to the server from Enterprise Tape Library 3494.
- If the tape drives appear under Other Drives, then you must download and install the latest device drivers for the tape drives from the IBM website.
