In this release, Arcserve Backup now supports backing up data to LTO6 drives. LTO6 drives offer higher capacity and improved performance over previous drives, such as LTO5.
Arcserve Backup also supports the functionality of Logical Block Protection (a feature LTO6 supports) offered by manufacturers of stand-alone tape drives, such as IBM and HP. LBP lets Arcserve Backup detect read and write errors that occur on library drives.
The Arcserve Backup implementation of LBP does not support the following backups:
