Large Library Filters

The Arcserve Backup definition of Large Library is any library that has more than 10,000 slots and any number of drives. This improves the time of auto-refresh (for devices/groups status) and provides useful filters and an easier way to execute multiple device commands (format/erase on a set of slots). In case of the Format command, the user is allowed to specify a prefix/suffix to the media name.

The following available filters for libraries significantly reduce the amount of data and therefore increase the data manageability and the application performance:

Note: The Media Pool and Bar Code filters accept wildcards.

The Library filters apply to Device Manager, Backup Manager/Destination views. To set a filter or to see the current one, go to the Library Filter tab. These filters apply to the current opened managers not to all managers.

If a filter was applied to the view, the status bar will indicate this by displaying "FILTER" in the second panel. By default, Device Manager and Backup Manager/Destination filter the empty slots.
