Recover a Local Machine

To recover a local machine after a disaster, perform the following procedure:

  1. Insert the Disaster Recovery Disk 5, and press View Config.
  2. Select drive A then choose the file, machinename.drf, which you want for this procedure.
  3. Click Close, then click Next.

The File Open window displays, on which you can view the DRIF information.

After you have selected the DRIF file, the Configuration window appears, displaying the partition information.

Important! This step must be performed at the Disaster Recovery Wizard Welcome screen. Otherwise, the feature for recovering from a local RAID library is not available.

The screen shows partition information for the last backup of this machine: Click Add Sessions to List to copy the session information associated with the DRIF file (the last full backup) to the Disaster Recovery Wizard. If you do this, you will not need to scan the media.

The Disaster Recovery Wizard scans the local machine for any backup devices connected to your computer and reports drive and media information.
