Add an Arcserve Backup User
Before users can be assigned a role, you must add them to the Arcserve Backup database.
To add an Arcserve Backup user
- From the Arcserve Backup Manager, select Administration, User Profile.
The User Profile manager opens.
- Click the Add User button on the toolbar.
The Add User Dialog opens.
- On the General tab, select Arcserve Backup Authentication and enter the following information:
- Username--Enter the new user name. You cannot use the "\" character.
- Password--You must enter and confirm the password.
- Description--(Optional) In the description box, enter information about the user account.
- Select the Roles tab, assign a role for the user.
Note: A minimum of one role must be assigned to a user when the user is created.
- Click OK.
The Windows user is added to the Arcserve Backup database.
Be aware of the following:
- Any valid Windows user can be added to Arcserve Backup from the User Profile Manager.
- Only the Arcserve Backup Administrator with a Security Administrator role can add a user.
