Installation Prerequisites

Before installing the option, verify the following:

Your system configuration meets the minimum requirements needed to install the option.
For a list of requirements, see the readme file.
You have administrator privileges on the computers on which you want to install the option.
You have the following applications installed and working properly:
- Arcserve Backup
- Arcserve Backup Enterprise Module
- Arcserve Backup Tape Library Option
- IBM Automated Tape Library service or StorageTek ACSLS Library Attach software
Important! You must install the Enterprise Module (which automatically includes these options) and Arcserve Backup on the same computer.
You know the host name, IP address, and password of the computer on which you are installing the option.
You have the plan of your tape volume configuration.
You have selected your library configuration method and gathered the required information to configure your library using the selected method.

Note: Contact your Arcserve Backup administrator to obtain the proper privileges.
