Configure StorageTek ACSLS Drives
To have the StorageTek ACSLS Option configure the drive controlled by the Arcserve Backup server after adding or removing a drive from the Arcserve Backup server, perform the following procedure:
Note: Before re-configuring the drives in the library, stop the Arcserve Backup Tape Engine.
- StorageTek ACSLS Option will prompt you to remove all volumes from the tape drives connected to your Arcserve Backup server. Removing all of the volumes allows StorageTek ACSLS Option to more easily configure your system.
The StorageTek ACSLS Library Configuration dialog appears.
- Select the configuration mode.
- Manual configuration--Use this option if your ACSLS library contains drives that use different types of media.
- Automatic configuration--Use this option if all drives within the ACSLS library use the same type of media.
- If you selected Manual configuration:
- From the StorageTek ACSLS Library - Manual Configuration dialog, select the drive you want to configure the library to use.
- Click Configure to edit the parameters of the selected drive or click Do Not Use to unselect the drive in order to unassociate it from the library.
- If you selected Configure, enter the parameters for ACS, LSM, PANEL, and ID and click OK.
- Click Next.
The StorageTek ACSLS Library Configuration - Drive Configuration dialog appears.
- Verify the drive configuration and click Next.
The Volume Configuration dialog appears allowing you to select the volumes you want assigned to the Arcserve Backup server. For more information, see the Volume Configuration section.
- If you selected Automatic configuration:
- Click Auto Config, and StorageTek ACSLS Option will search the library for the newly added drive.
When it has finished, it will appear in the drive list.
- Click Next.
The Volume Configuration dialog appears allowing you to select the volumes you want assigned to the Arcserve Backup server. For more information, see the Volume Configuration section.
