SAN Shared Volume Configuration Example

The tape volume assignments determine the logical user-defined library shared by all CA ARCserve Backup servers in the SAN. In the following example, a single set of tape volumes defines the logical library for the SAN:

The example shows that the Enterprise Tape Library 3494 has three tape drives directly attached to a SAN. The tape volume assignments are the same for each CA ARCserve Backup server in the SAN. Another backup server on the network that is not running CA ARCserve Backup may have a different configuration.
