Configure Access Rights to the Server

Arcserve Backup Agent for Lotus Domino connects to the Lotus Domino server through the Lotus API. Therefore, for security reasons, it is important that a user is authorized and has access rights to connect internally to the Lotus Domino server to run the components of the agent.

Before you start using the Agent for Lotus Domino, you must configure access to the Lotus Domino server that you want to back up.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click the Windows Start button, point to Programs, CA, ARCserve Backup, and Lotus Domino Agent Configuration.

The Backup Agent for Lotus Domino Configuration dialog opens.

  2. Enter the location of the notes.ini file, the server ID file name, and the corresponding password to access the server ID file.

Note: The server ID filename and corresponding password are only required when backing up the shared email database. Typically, for Lotus Domino partitioned servers, the notes.ini file is located in the Lotus Domino data path. For Lotus Domino single servers, the notes.ini file is located in the Lotus Domino home directory.

  3. Click Finish.

The configuration information is sent to the Registry Editor and the configuration is completed.
