ACL
An ACL (Access Control List) lets you identify the specific Arcserve Backup servers permitted to back up the Oracle database.
Agent Admin interface
The Agent Admin interface is a component of the Arcserve Backup Client Agent for Windows and is used (in addition to other tasks) to create Access Control Lists (ACLs). ACLs allow you to identify the specific remote Arcserve Backup servers permitted to back up the Oracle database.

offline backup
An offline backup is a backup that is run while the database is offline. This type of backup is usually faster, but does require exclusive access to the database.
online backup
An online backup is a backup that is run on a database that is online. Online backups reduce database downtime, but still allow other connections to the database while the backup is occurring.
RMAN
RMAN (Oracle Recovery Manager) is an Oracle utility for backing up, restoring, and recovering Oracle databases. During installation of Arcserve Backup, you have the option of installing support for RMAN so you can submit backup and restore jobs to Arcserve Backup by connecting to RMAN using either the command line or the Oracle Backup Manager user interface.
tablespace-level backup
Rather than backing up a complete database, you can back up individual database objects, such as tablespaces. A tablespace-level backup is a backup on either the Oracle system tablespace or a tablespace containing rollback segments.
