Customize Your Grandfather-Father-Son Rotation Rules

To modify the backup criteria for days in your grandfather-father-son (GFS) rotation scheme, perform the following procedure:

1. On the Schedule tab of the Backup Manager, select Use Rotation scheme.
2. Select Enable GFS. 
3. Highlight a day in your grandfather-father-son rotation scheme that you want to modify.
4. Click on Modify to alter the rotation rule for a day in your scheme.
5. Select OK.
6. Configure your specific rotation rule for a day in the Configuration dialog.

   Select a Backup Method, Full, Incremental, or Differential, or off.

   Enter the start time by entering either the Default time (scheduled execution time for the original GFS Rotation job) or specifying another time for this job to run.

7. (optional) You can customize your rotation scheme from the Calendar View tab.
8. Save your customized rotation scheme.

   The Save Scheme dialog opens.

9. Enter a name for the rotation scheme, then click OK.
10. Click Submit.
