The ca_backup command includes the following global miscellaneous options:
ca_backup [-scan | -compare]
Scans the backup media and checks the header of each file to verify the integrity of the backup. If the header is readable, the data is assumed to be reliable.
Reads blocks of data from the backup media and compares the data, byte for byte, against the source files on the source machine, to verify the integrity of the backup.
Note: The Compare Media to Disk option is not supported with agents for databases and applications.
