The device manager command (ca_devmgr) lets you perform various device management commands in Arcserve Backup without interfacing with the Device Manager. You can use this tool to obtain information or to manipulate the tape or library devices. This command allows you to control storage devices, and to format and erase media in drives or changers. All of the features available from the Device Manager are available from the command line.
To use ca_devmgr, Arcserve Backup must be running, and you need authorization by an authentication service. If you are not authorized, then run the ca_auth utility to authorize yourself.
