Scan Media
To scan media using the Media Assure & Scan utility, perform the following procedure:
- From the Arcserve Backup Home Page, start the Media Assure & Scan utility.
- Specify which media you want to scan.
If the media you want to use is not currently in a storage device, you must type the information into the Group and Media fields. If you do not know the session number, you can check the Activity Log or Job Records or Media Records in the database.
- Do one of the following:
Note: The All Sessions option is enabled by default when the Media Assure & Scan utility starts.
- To scan all sessions on a media, check the All Sessions check box.
- To scan a specific session on a media, clear the check mark from the All Sessions check box, and then specify the session number in the Session # field.
- To scan a range of sessions on a media, clear the check mark from the All Sessions check box, check the check box next to the drop-down list By Range to Session #. Then, specify range end points in the Session # fields.
- To scan a specific session to the last session on the media, clear the check mark from the All Sessions check box, check the check box next to the drop-down list and select To Last Session. Then, specify the starting session number in the Session # field.
- Specify any options, filters, or both for the job.
- Click the Start toolbar button to submit the job.
