How to Increase File System and Deduplication Device Volume Capacity

The maximum amount of data that can be stored on a file system device or deduplication device volume is directly proportionate to the cluster size of the volume. To increase the maximum volume size, reformat the volume with a larger cluster size.

Example

Volume has a cluster size of 4 KB. Therefore, the maximum amount of data that can be stored on this volume is 232 x 4 KB = 16 TB.

The volume is reformatted with a cluster size of 16 KB. This changes the maximum amount of data that can be stored to
232 x 16 KB = 64 TB
