Create Custom Job Templates

You can create a custom job template that you can save for future jobs on any Arcserve Backup system.

To create a job template

  1. From the Arcserve Backup Manager window, select Backup from the Quick Start menu.

    The Backup Manager Window opens.

  2. Make selections for your backup job by accessing the Start, Source, Destination, and Schedule tabs.

    Click Submit in the toolbar to submit the job.

    The Submit Job dialog opens.

  3. Click Save Template.

    The Save Job Template dialog opens.

  4. In the File Name field, specify a name for the job template and click Save.

    The job is saved as a job template with an .ast file name extension.

Note: While default job templates are stored in the Templates/Jobs folder in the Arcserve Backup directory, you can save your template in any directory you want. To open your custom job template on a local machine or from a remote server, access the File menu and choose the Open from Template option. After the job template is open, specify the source data, and then you can submit the job.
