How the Agent Works on SharePoint Server Systems

Arcserve Backup and the Agent for Microsoft SharePoint Server work together to back up and restore SharePoint Server data. When Arcserve Backup backs up data, the server connects to the agent and sends a request. The agent retrieves the data from the SharePoint Server and exports the data to a dump folder on the disk and then sends it to Arcserve Backup, where the data is backed up to media. During a restore operation, the agent functions in a similar way and helps transfer the backed up data from Arcserve Backup to the server.
