Auto-Cleaning on Device [device_name], S/N [serial_number] is not successful. Examine the device, if the job is incomplete.

Reason:
The drive indicated in the message reported an error while a read or a write operation was in progress. Arcserve Backup then ran a cleaning job on the drive, but the cleaning job failed.
Action:
To address this error message, perform the following:
- Check the expiration date of your cleaning cartridge. If it has expired, replace it and clean the drive.
- Check if any tapes are stuck in the drive. If so, remove them or contact the hardware vendor for assistance.
- Check whether the tape slots are off-lined in the Device Manager. If so, inventory those slots.
- Check whether the drive is off-lined. If so, enable it again from the Device Manager.
- If you continue to receive this error on the same device, examine the device or contact your hardware vendor for assistance.
