Port Configuration Fields

Description

Enter a descriptive name for the port you are configuring.

Port

Select a communications port.

Baud Rate

Select the baud rate.

Stop Bits

Select the number of Stop Bit: 1 or 2.

Note: For numeric pagers, the recommended settings are: 8 data bits, NO parity, 1 stop bit. For alphanumeric pages, the recommended settings are: 7 data bits, EVEN parity, 1 stop bit. Consult the pager's user guide if you encounter any problems with the pager communication.

Data Bit

Select the number of Data Bits, 7 or 8.

Parity

Select the parity setting: NONE, ODD or EVEN.

Use As Default

Select this option to use this port when you create a new Pager recipient.
