ca_auth - Role Arguments

Each user should be assigned at least one role to create a User Profile. For each role there is a corresponding list of permissions. A User Profile is the combination of linking the user with the assigned role(s) and the associated permissions for the assigned role(s).

Note: For more information about User Profiles, see the Administration Guide.

To display the list of current available roles, along with the corresponding role description and role id, you must enter the following command:

ca_auth -role getall
-role

Displays the role arguments. This provides you with an easy way to find out the role id which could be used while adding a new user or changing the role of an existing user.

getall

Lists all roles known to Arcserve Backup Authentication Service.

The current available role list is as follows:

1) Backup Operator
2) Restore Operator
3) Device Operator
4) Tape Operator
5) Security Administrator
6) Report Operator
7) Monitor Operator
8) Arcserve Administrator
9) Ownership Checking Exemption Privilege
