The backup manager command (ca_backup), is the command line interface to the Backup Manager. All of the features available from the Backup Manager GUI are also available from the command line. Use this command to submit backup jobs to the Arcserve Backup queue, including setting all associated options, filtering, GFS Rotation and rotation jobs.
Important! Make sure that you use the correct syntax when using the Command Line Interface (CLI). Avoid using file names or database names that have the same titles as CLI options. The CLI does not support backup of some special files or databases, such as "- filesystem" or "-database" which have the same titles as CLI options. For example, if you want to back up some files titled "-database", the job will fail because -database is also a CLI global option for Arcserve Backup.
