Before installing the Agent for Oracle, verify that the following applications are installed and working properly on your machines:
You must install the Agent on the same host as the Oracle Server that you want to back up. This may or may not be the same as the host on which Arcserve Backup is installed.
Note: For information about the appropriate version of operating system and the appropriate version of Oracle Server for your environment, see the Readme.
Before you start installing the agent, you must have administrator privileges with root access to install software on the machines on which you plan to install the agent.
Note: Contact your Arcserve Backup administrator to obtain the proper privileges if you do not have them.
