You can configure the following registry key of the Agent for Sybase to help you in troubleshooting:

To configure the registry key, change the following registry entries:
Specifies the maximum time the agent waits for a valid Named Pipe for backup and restore. The agent uses named pipes to send its data to and from Arcserve Backup. Under a heavy system load, the named pipe can time out before data becomes available. To resolve this problem, you can increase the value of Max_pipe_wait_time in the registry.
Helps you generate execution trace, which assists in tracking down problems with the agent. If you set the debug flag in the registry to one (1), the agent generates an execution trace.
Note: The debug flag is designed for use by Arcserve Technical Support. Do not set this flag unless requested to do so by Arcserve Technical Support.
