Devices Do Not Appear to be Working Properly
Valid on Windows platforms.
Symptom
Devices do not appear to be working properly.
Solution
There are several important points to consider when tracking down hardware problems:
- Make sure the hardware is functional, including the host adapter card, the cables, the library, and the library drive. If you can, test your hardware by connecting it to a properly functioning system.
- Make sure the hardware is configured properly.
- For multi-drive libraries, make sure library drives are assigned in the correct order.
Using the Computer Management utility, you can diagnose your hardware. To access the Computer Management utility, from your Windows desktop, right-click My Computer and select Manage from the pop-up menu.
