Tape Engine General Options

Arcserve Backup lets you specify the following general options:

• Usa set temporaneo globale: permette a Arcserve Backup di usare un set temporaneo globale. Questa opzione è attivata per impostazione predefinita;

  The Global Scratch Set treats all of the scratch tapes in all media pools as one large Scratch Set. Ciò garantisce la corretta esecuzione dei processi di backup nel caso in cui nel pool di supporti non sia disponibile un nastro temporaneo.

This object contains all of the media available in the scratch sets of all your media pools. If you right-click GlobalScratchSet and select Assign Media, you can move media from an unassigned set to the Scratch Set.

  When you select a media in the Global Scratch Set, two extra properties appear as column headings on the top right-hand pane and on the Properties tab in the lower right hand pane: Medium Type and Media Pool. If you click a column heading on the top right-hand pane, you can sort the list by that column. If the media you select in the Global Scratch Set is vaulted, it appears in a different color to indicate that it is inactive.

  Note: This option is available only on Windows computers.

  • Se si seleziona questa opzione, Arcserve Backup richiede i flag TapeAlert a tutte le periferiche collegate ad intervalli di un minuto. If Arcserve Backup detects a TapeAlert flag, it reports real-time details about the flag in the Activity Log and the Tape.log file.
  • Se si disattiva questa opzione, Arcserve Backup non mantiene un meccanismo di query su thread separato per rilevare e segnalare i flag TapeAlert. As a result, Arcserve Backup will not query for TapeAlert flags until the job is running and a SCSI error occurs. If Arcserve Backup detects a TapeAlert flag while the job is running, it reports the details about the flag in the Activity Log and the Tape.log file.
