Whenever you use Arcserve Backup to back up information and data, the amount of description information (catalog files and index files) stored in the catalog database folder increases. Without any controls, in time the size of the catalog database folder would increase, eventually occupying the entire backup disk, and resulting in backup errors due to insufficient free disk space.
To resolve this problem, Arcserve Backup allows you to specify a catalog database pruning threshold. The pruning threshold (or Minimum disk free space threshold) setting is accessible from the Configuration dialog of the Server Admin Manager. The selectable range of this threshold is from 1% to 99%, with the default value set to 10%, and is based on the percentage value of the detected free disk space.
Nota: Arcserve Backup controlla periodicamente la percentuale di spazio libero su disco del volume in cui si trova la cartella del database di catalogo. Se lo spazio libero rilevato è inferiore alla percentuale indicata, verrà inviato un messaggio di avviso al registro attività e si avvierà automaticamente l'eliminazione dei file del database di catalogo (risalenti ad almeno 7 giorni prima, a partire dal meno recente) dal disco fino a quando la percentuale di spazio libero non sarà maggiore alla soglia impostata.
