Install Updates Only

You can install updates on Arcserve UDP v6.0 environment only using either of the two methods:

• Manually
• Using the update utility

Installing the Update Manually

For an upgrade installation package for Windows servers and workstations that have Arcserve UDP v6.0 already installed, download and install the update manually using the following links to the installation files:

• Arcserve UDP:

  http://downloads.arcserve.com/arcserve_family_products/arcserveudp/v6u1/FullUpdates/r6.0/Arcserve_Unified_Data_Protection_6.0_Update_1.exe

• Arcserve UDP Windows Agent:

  http://downloads.arcserve.com/arcserve_family_products/arcserveudp/v6u1/EngineUpdates/r6.0/Arcserve_Unified_Data_Protection_Agent_6.0_Update_1.exe

Installing the Update Using the Update Utility

You can install the update using the update utility from the Home Page.

Follow these steps:

1. Open and log in to one of the following applications:
   • Arcserve UDP for Full installation
   • Arcserve UDP Agent (Windows) for Agent only installation.
2. Based on your selection of application, update by performing the following action on the home page:
   1. From the top right corner of the Home Page, click Help, and then click Check for Updates.
   2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install and apply the update.

   Notes:

   • For the Full Installation, this step also automatically downloads the necessary packages for remote deployment to the RPS and the Agent.
   • For the Agent only installation, this step completes the update process.

   Arcserve UDP Gateway server is automatically upgraded after Arcserve UDP Console installs and applies the update.

3. Perform the following actions to update the Recovery Point Server:
   1. From the left pane, click Recovery Point Servers.
   2. Select the RPS, click Actions and then click Install/Upgrade Recovery Point Server to upgrade each RPS.
   3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install and apply the update.
4. Update the Agent (Full installation) using one of the following methods:
   • Redeploy the plan to automatically update the Agent nodes.
   • Use the Node view to update the Agent nodes.
     • Click Node view and then click All Nodes.
     • Select the nodes, click Actions, and then click Install/Upgrade Agent to update each agent.
     • Follow the on-screen instructions to install and apply the update.
