Restore the System Tablespace
You can use the following procedure to restore the system tablespace.
To restore the system tablespace
- Shut down the database.
- Open the Restore Manager.
- On the Source tab, select the Restore by Tree view and select the tablespace you want to restore.
Note: The Oracle database objects are automatically restored to their original locations. You do not need to select a destination.
- Click the Schedule tab and select the scheduling options you want to apply to this job.
- Click Submit.
The Session User Name and Password dialog opens.
- To enter or change the user name and password (and the session password) for the machine on which the Oracle server is running, select the session and click Edit.
- Enter the user name and password:
- For Oracle 9i and 10g, enter the user name SYSTEM.
- For any version, the user name can also be any account with SYSDBA equivalent privileges.
- Click OK.
The job is submitted to the queue and can be monitored from the Job Queue Manager.
