Updating Passwords Using ca_jobsecmgr Does Not Complete Successfully

Valid on Windows platforms.

Symptom

The ca_jobsecmgr command provides a means to specify whether you want your changes (user name and password) to be applied to a specific Arcserve Backup server or to all backup servers in the current Arcserve Backup domain. Updating passwords using ca_jobsecmgr -s may not complete the password update process.

Solution

Complete the following steps to correct this behavior.

  1. Log in to the Arcserve Backup server.
  2. Open the Backup Manager and click the Source tab to display the source directory tree.
  3. From the Backup menu, click Source Context Menu and then click Security to open the Security dialog.
  4. Complete the required information on the Security dialog and click OK.
  5. (Optional) For the jobs that are not scheduled, resubmit the failed jobs.
