The Client Node Software Report is helpful in analyzing and determining the effectiveness of your protected data environment. From this report you can get a snapshot view of the installed applications on your nodes and easily determine if your application-related data is protected or not.
For example, if this report shows that you have a SQL Server, but do not have a corresponding Arcserve Backup SQL Server Agent installed on it, then you know that any data on that server is not protected and you should obtain a valid license for that agent.
In addition, this report can also be helpful in determining if you have a problem with your backups.
For example, if this report shows that you have a SQL Server and you also have a corresponding Arcserve Backup SQL Server Agent installed on it, but there has not been a successful backup during the last specified number of days, then you know that any data on that server is not protected and you should either review your scheduled backup plan to determine if a backup was attempted or investigate the reason why your backup failed.
