The Windows Engine is the software that enables Arcserve Backup to back up open files without conflicting with the operating system file access control on a computer running Windows. The Windows Engine does not have a user interface, so you cannot manage your servers from a computer with only the Windows Engine installed. You must use the Console to manage your servers.
