Login Name Configuration for Remote Backup Programs
Backup applications that log in to a server, either from a workstation or from another server, must have a login name configured. This does not include backup applications that use remote agents such as Push Agents. If your backup application is not of this type, leave the corresponding client entries disabled.
Example: Login name configuration
To set the login name using Arcserve Backup
- Open the Backup Manager and go to the Source tab.
- Right-click the server for which you want to configure the login name, and then select Security from the pop-up menu.
- Enter a login name and password.
- If the login name is the same name configured on the client workstation, you can successfully log in.
- If it is not the same name configured on the client workstation, update the login information.
