Cannot access agent on my server when using the Console
Cannot Access the Agent on my server when using the Console on the Workstation
Symptom
Any or all of the following:
- The file is not listed in the log.
- The log shows Unable to Sync File/Group Filename.
Solution
Use the console to check the agent log file to identify the server that is storing the skipped files. Each time Arcserve Backup accesses an open file, an entry is made in the log.
- If the file is not listed in the log, the agent has not recognized the client.
- If the log shows Unable to Sync File/Group Filename, the agent could not find a time when the file or group was in a consistent state to be backed up. Try increasing the value of File Sync Timeout or reducing the value of Write Inactivity Period. Make sure that the timers are set with enough time to ensure transactional integrity.
- If the file is not part of a group, you can create an entry for the file in the File/Group tab of the Configuration dialog rather than change the default values in the General tab.
