Database Engine

This engine is responsible for maintaining the history of several things:

Files, directories, storage devices, and machines on which Arcserve Backup has performed a function.
Information about jobs that have been processed by Arcserve Backup, such as the type, the final result, the start and end time.
Backup media used by Arcserve Backup, such as its name, date it was first formatted, date it expires, and number of sessions.
Machines on the network, such as the name, domain or workgroup they belong to.

The Database Engine captures the important details of every job.
