This section describes how to set up a BlackBerry Enterprise Server for use with Arcserve RHA.
You can install BlackBerry Enterprise Server on the same machine as SQL Server or MSDE (All in One Configuration), or on a different machine (Distributed Configuration). Note that Arcserve High Availability supports both configurations, but additional modifications are required on the SQL server in a distributed configuration.
Further, the installation procedures vary if you are running BES with or without MDS Integration Service. This service is required only if you wish to run enterprise applications on BlackBerry devices. Installing this service also installs the BlackBerry MDS Application Repository on the database server machine.
