If data collection fails for some reason, where do I check the reason for failure?

Problem:

When the data collection fails for a node, you get a failed scan status for corresponding volume along with a pop-up message.

The following screenshot displays the Failed Scan Status:

Solution:

When the data collection fails, verify the reason for failure in the server node and source node.

The log file name on server node is ArcserveDeduplicationAssessment.log and is located in the logs folder where Arcserve UDP Data Store Capacity Planning Tool resides.

The log file name on source node is ArcserveDeduplicationAssessmentProbe.log and is located in C:\Windows folder.
