Running the ADK Setup

Running the ADK setup is part of the Creating the Recovery Environment process.

Important: Before starting the process on this page, you should first complete the steps on the Creating the Recovery Environment page.

After finishing the process on this page you also need to run the ADKwinpe setup.

To setup the ADK:

1. Download ADKsetup.exe.
2. See Download and install the Windows ADK for the latest official Microsoft Windows ADK information.
2. Run ADKsetup.exe as administrator.
3. Move through the installation process for each setup. Use the default install paths.
3. On the ADKsetup “Select features you want to install” screen, keep all the default selections and make sure that the Deployment Tools feature is selected, then click Install.

4. Allow the download and installation to complete and close the ADKsetup.
5. Proceed to the ADKwinpesetup and complete the steps on that page.
