Running the ADK Windows PE Setup

Running the ADK Windows PE Setup is part of the Creating the Recovery Environment process.

Important: Before completing the steps on this page you should first complete the steps on the Creating the Recovery Environment page and complete the steps the ADKsetup page.

After finishing the process on this page you also need to follow the instructions on the Finish Creating the Recovery Environment page.

To setup ADK Windows PE:

1. Download ADKwinpesetup.exe.
2. See Download and install the Windows ADK for the latest official Microsoft Windows ADK information.
2. Run ADKwinpesetup.exe as administrator.
3. Use the default install paths.
3. On the ADKwinpesetup “Select features you want to install” screen, select Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) then click Install.

4. Allow the download and installation to complete and close the ADKwinpesetup.
5. Proceed to Finish Creating the Recovery Environment and complete the steps on that page.
