Upgrade Considerations

Arcserve UDP 6.0 Update 1 supports upgrades from UDP 6.0 as well as all other upgrades supported by Arcserve UDP 6.0 GA build. For details, refer to V6.0 Release Notes.
Backward Compatibility for Arcserve UDP 6.0 Update1 supports Arcserve UDP Version 6.0 GA, as well as other backward compatibility supported by Arcserve UDP 6.0 GA build. For details, refer to V6.0 Release Notes.
Avoid Reboot after Upgrade on RPS nodes:
After upgrading to Update 1, you may receive a pop-up message asking to reboot your system to complete the update. To avoid reboot before starting the upgrade process, perform the following steps:
1. Verify if the AFShellExtension.dll is in use.
2. If the .dll is in use, first sign out and then sign in.
  
  Note: Verify if multiple users are connected to the machine.
3. Perform the upgrade without AFShellExtension.dll being in use.
The Reboot pop-up message does not appear.
