Configuring your library is an important step in installing the Enterprise Option for StorageTek ACSLS. You must have the Tape Library Option installed to configure the library. You can install the Tape Library Option before or during installation of the Enterprise Option for StorageTek ACSLS. During the installation of the Tape Library Option, the tape drives attached to the Arcserve Backup server are detected and assigned to the server.
Before configuring, remove all tape volumes from the tape drives in the StorageTek ACSLS library. After you assign the tape drives to the server and remove the tape volumes from the tape drives, configure the library by choosing either the manual or the automatic configuration methods. During configuration, the tape volumes in the StorageTek ACSLS library are read and initialized.
