Shared Tape Volume Configuration in a SAN

The tape volume assignments determine the user-defined logical library shared by all CA ARCserve Backup servers in the SAN. In the following illustration, a single set of tape volumes defines the logical library for the SAN:

The illustration shows that the StorageTek ACSLS tape library has three tape drives directly attached to a SAN. The tape volume assignments are the same for each CA ARCserve Backup server in the SAN. Another backup server on the network that is not running CA ARCserve Backup may have a different configuration.
