Arcserve UDP Cannot Communicate with the Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server on Remote Nodes

Symptom

Arcserve UDP cannot communicate with the Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server on remote nodes.

Solution

The following table describe reasons why Arcserve UDP cannot communicate with the Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server on remote nodes and the corresponding corrective action:

The network was unavailable or unstable when Arcserve UDP tried to communicate with the Linux Backup Server node.

Verify that the network is available and stable, and then try again.

Arcserve UDP can ping the remote Linux Backup Server node and the remote Linux Backup Server node can ping back Arcserve UDP.

The Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server node could not handle the load when Arcserve UDP tried to communicate with the node.

Verify that the CPU on the remote Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server node is in a normal state and then try again.

The Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server service on the remote node was not running when Arcserve UDP tried to communicate with the node.

Verify that the Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server service on the remote node is running and then try again.

The Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server service was not communicating properly.

Restart the Arcserve UDP Linux Backup Server service on the remote node and then try again.
