Recover the Master Database
You can recover a master database in the Sybase Adaptive Server.
Note: You must run the Sybase Adaptive Server in the single-user mode.
Follow these steps:
- Verify that Arcserve Backup, Sybase Adaptive Server, and the agent are installed on the appropriate systems.
- Append the parameter -m to the command line in the RUN_servername.BAT file.
Note: You can find the RUN_servername.BAT file in the sybase_main_dir\ASExxx\install directory
- Run the RUN_servername.BAT file.
The Sybase Adaptive Server is now in the single-user mode.
- Restore the master database using Arcserve Backup and the agent.
- Shut down the server and restart it in the normal (multi-user) mode.
For more information about restoring a master database, see the Sybase documentation.
